Terence Burke is a Senior Account Executive at Denterlein Worldwide to specializing in media relations, writing and public affairs.
At Denterlein, Mr. Burke has co-managed the Prescription Project, a national campaign of Columbia University and Community Catalyst to change practices related to how physicians interact with pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Burke has led the media relations outreach resulting in story and op-ed placement in newspapers throughout the country. He also has worked with Perkins School for the Blind in generating widespread public awareness of key issues impacting the blind and visually impaired.
Mr. Burke specializes in working with clients to generate strong hooks for broadcast outreach, create visual elements to broadcast reporters in covering issue-based topics and train clients in interacting with the broadcast media.
Mr. Burke draws on more than a decade of experience as an associate producer on WGBH's Emmy-award winning public affairs and news program, Greater Boston with Emily Rooney and produced Beat the Press, a weekly broadcast that covers and critiques local and national media. Beat the Press was awarded the National Press Club's Arthur Rowse award for Press Criticism in 2005, 2004 and 2001 and twice won the Associated Press News / Talk award. Mr. Burke also produced segments on Massachusetts and national politics including live broadcasts from the New Hampshire primaries and the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. Before Greater Boston, Mr. Burke worked as a production assistant on the PBS series Frontline and NOVA.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Burke served for two years as Deputy Press Secretary for former Attorney General Tom Reilly where Terence handled media relations for the Government and Public Protection Bureaus. During his tenure at the AG's office, Mr. Burke served as a liaison to the press on government agency issues, municipal law, same-sex marriage, consumer protection, and utilities, as well as coordinating press events with municipal officials. Mr. Burke was also a speech writer for the attorney general and served as press advance. He was active in Tom Reilly's gubernatorial campaign as a volunteer in the communications department and advance team.
