Catherine Grant, Account Director

With more than a decade experience working with the region's top healthcare providers, Catherine Grant has an extensive record of successfully planning, creating and executing strategic communications plans. Ms. Grant has specialized in public policy issues, health policy, and crisis communications, focusing on creating communication plans that contribute to an organization's overall strategic goals and support long-term business plans.

As a seasoned public affairs executive, Ms. Grant has gained expertise in building and preserving an organization's reputation with the government, media and the public-at-large. She has the capacity to refine multiple objectives while creating seamless, effective communication vehicles that resound publicly and help to further an organization's objectives. Ms. Grant has led multi-disciplinary teams in the execution of projects involving internal and external marketing and earned media communications, resulting in strong relationships with national media outlets and healthcare industry publications.

Prior to joining the Denterlein Worldwide team, Ms. Grant was the Manager of Media Relations, Corporate Communications for Tufts Health Plan. During her tenure at Tufts Health Plan Ms. Grant was responsible for the development and execution of external communications campaigns for the $2 billion nationally recognized health care organization. She worked closely with senior leaders to implement communication strategy and to better position the organization with their external constituents, including the media, opinion leaders and government officials. Over a one-year period Ms. Grant's strong leadership led Tufts Health Plan to a significant increase in positive media coverage, with 44 percent more coverage overall and 88 percent more positive coverage than their largest competitor.

While working on an advocacy campaign to create national awareness of the lack of federal funding for private Medicare programs, Ms. Grant authored an opinion piece published in 12 weekly papers and gained national media coverage for the campaign. She was also appointed the Communications project manager for the Physician Group Quality Profile, the first medical group report card published in the Eastern United States.

Preceding her work with Tufts Health Plan, Ms. Grant worked for another top ranking health provider, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. As the Communications Assistant she was responsible for providing support for the start-up business subsidiary. Ms. Grant designed and wrote presentations positioning the organization as a positive business opportunity for physician groups and created internal communications reports that highlighted department goals and achievements.

A graduate of Simmons College in Boston, Ms. Grant has a Bachelor of Arts in International Management and French and a Master of Arts in French. She was a member of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce's 2006 Future Leaders class.
