Paul Jean, Vice President

Specializing in strategic communications and writing, Paul Jean leads the Denterlein Worldwide team on several of the firm's signature clients. Mr. Jean leads the account team in corporate communications for Nutter McClennen & Fish, one of Boston's leading law firms, which has realized a 100 percent increase in press hits under his guidance. He also spearheads a long-term advocacy campaign for Massachusetts Public Higher Education, and has helped to build strong support for investment in the University of Massachusetts and the state and community colleges.

He represented IKEA in successfully permitting and opening its first Massachusetts store in Stoughton and continues to represent the world's largest home furnishings retailer in its efforts to build a second Massachusetts store in Assembly Square, Somerville. He works with Children's Hospital Boston as an advisor and writer and helped manage several communications projects. He also has represented the Fort Point Cultural Coalition in its effort to preserve New England's largest arts community.

Jean has developed a particular forte in writing and placing op-ed and bylined articles. He has written op-eds for a range of educational, health care and corporate clients, including Children's Hospital Boston, Nutter McClennen & Fish, the Massachusetts State Colleges, University of Massachusetts, Tufts Health Plan and the Center for Women & Enterprise.

Prior to joining Denterlein, Mr. Jean was a professor of political science at Bridgewater State College. He specialized in international political economy and international environmental politics. He conducted extensive research and wrote numerous papers on international energy policy, international resource management and Antarctica, for the history and preservation of which he has a passion.

Mr. Jean earned his Master of Arts in government from Georgetown University and received his Bachelor of Arts in political science and economics summa cum laude from Bridgewater State College.

He is active in a number of civic organizations.
